Turtles
We've had an....interesting time checking out Guiyang. Everywhere we go with the girls there is much open staring and pointing. Sometimes women look at me and smile and show 2 fingers and I nod, smile. Some people jus glare. Guide Jerry swears that there is no animosity in the looks or words they say to us despite our obvious lack of understanding. Mark explained that if that kind of staring happens in the U.S. that means a fight's about to start (south side Chicagoan, is he). Jerry was horrified, poor kid.
They really like turtles here.
Forbidden City.
Walmart.
You haven't lived til you've seen the inside of the Guiyang Walmart.
We needed clothes for the girls-United Airlines allows about 50 lbs per bag for travel but because we've been traveling inside of China the allowance is about 40lbs. So we traveled with necessities and decided to buy what we need when we get there. Mark has an excellent sense of direction and found this hidden gem which is about a 15 minute walk. We picked up everything we need & now, on to a park with Jerry, girls waking from naps now.
I just want to say, thank you to all for all the likes, comments and love that you've all sent, too many to count. The support and good wishes have made us feel very grateful. xoxo
